We are very proud to congratulate our Professional Advisor, Fran Theron, on her election to the Europe Region Executive Committee of World Physiotherapy for the 2026–2028 term. Fran was elected at the Europe Region’s 15th General Meeting in Pristina, Kosovo, which brought together representatives from 32 member organisations across Europe. Long waiting lists for essential services like physiotherapy are having a real impact on people’s quality of life and their ability to participate fully in everyday activities. Following recent reporting in The Irish Times on growing primary care waiting lists, our CEO Dr. Marie Ó Mír spoke to RTÉ Drivetime about the consequences of delayed access to care, and the impact of vacancy rates on staffing. Marie highlighted that physiotherapy is a fabulous profession, but warned that investment in staffing and working conditions is essential to ensure patients can access timely care.
