one of the hardest problems in crypto is consensus one way or another, every blockchain needs a way to agree on what's true blockchains use Proof-of-Stake (PoS) and till today, it works, because validators are involved to confirm transactions long range attack can be caused by any hacker if they use old validator keys to rewrite old blockchain history, or if validators have sold their stake, but with Canopy's NestBFT which is a combination of Proof-of-Stake and Proof-of-Age, @CNPYNetwork has designed this in such a way that old keys carry less trust over time incase it falls into the wrong hands when searching for any major long range attack that has succeeded publicly, i couldn't find any coz most big chains now use centralized checkpoints to make this attack non existent but with each fixes, a new problem, as these checkpoints makes the network less decentralized Canopy's NestBFT solves this, with no checkpoints involved NestBFT is the network's security backbone!
