“B0mb.” Really?! That is the most appropriate language to use?
Reminder: government has no money of its own. It is all the public’s money. If the public wants to spend it frivolously it should be allowed, especially since the government does it all the time!
It is also a bit rich to hear public officials and state-sponsored commentators lecture citizens about taxpayer spending while dismissing legitimate public concerns, particularly when their own salaries and positions are funded by the very people they are criticizing.
Danielle Smith drops a $400-billion bomb on Alberta separatism.
"Look at a dictionary and this is the definition of eye-popping. This is not the definition of the land of milk and money," writes Rick Bell nationalpost.com/opinion/column…
I understand exactly how Danielle Smith could feel like a stranger in her own country.
A lot of Canadians feel it now.
We see pro-Hamas rallies in our streets while ordinary Canadians are told to watch their language. We see Bill C-9 threatening to punish speech that challenges approved narratives. We see woke ideology treated like sacred doctrine in schools, bureaucracies, corporations, and media. And we see economic stupidity piled on top of cultural stupidity, especially in Canada and here in Manitoba.
Higher taxes. Higher costs. Worse services. More crime. More censorship. More lectures from people who keep making everything worse.
At some point, this stops feeling like normal political disagreement and starts feeling like your own country has been quietly taken over by people who dislike its history, distrust its citizens, and punish anyone who still believes in common sense.
That is the real divide now.
Not left versus right.
It is normal Canadians versus a managerial class that thinks the country belongs to them.
NFL scouts still rave about the year the Incredible Hulk ran a 3.5 40 at the Combine. Unfortunately, he later ate the Wonderlic Test before hurling Pete Rozelle through a plate glass window.
“Simple Man” was written in 1973 by Ronnie Van Zant and Gary Rossington for Lynyrd Skynyrd’s debut album.
It came about shortly after Ronnie lost his grandmother and Gary lost his mother. The two met at Ronnie’s apartment, sharing memories and the advice those women had given them. Gary played a simple chord progression while Ronnie wrote the lyrics. The song was finished in about an hour.
Gary Rossington summed it up this way: “We just put into a song what our mothers or grandmothers had told us. They actually wrote it. We just played it.”
The lyrics are advice from a mother (or grandmother) to her son: live peacefully, don’t chase after money or riches, be true to yourself, and find satisfaction in the simple things.
During the recording, producer Al Kooper didn’t want to include it because he considered it weak. Ronnie kicked him out of the studio and told him to wait outside until they finished recording it. Eventually, Kooper admitted he had been wrong.
After his death in the 1977 accident, the song took on even greater emotional significance and continues to convey that simple yet profound message more than fifty years later.
Here’s the thing about credentials.
Would you rather have knee surgery performed by a doctor that went to a regular medical school but has a record of 2,000 successful surgeries?
Or would you go with the Ivy-League doctor that has performed 2 surgeries with mixed results but wrote a book about knee surgery?
Carney is openly using YOUR CPP pension money to prop up his failing economy on the world stage.
Your mandatory deductions built the $793 BILLION CPP fund — meant for YOUR retirement, kept safe from politicians for decades.
Now Carney parades the “Maple 8” pension giants in Davos, New York, and global investor summits as his shiny “Canada Inc.” asset. He’s pitching them hard to attract foreign capital and fund “nation-building” projects while:
• Middle-class families treat food and heat like luxuries
• Groceries up massively (cucumbers +28%, coffee +25%, chicken +15% in a year)
• Gas still ~$1.90/L with Clean Fuel taxes layered on
• 42.3% of family income goes to taxes — more than housing + food + clothing combined
• Technical recession, businesses closing for 6 straight quarters, $1T+ capital fleeing
We pay the highest tax burden in modern history. We get the squeezed budgets. And now our retirement savings are being used as marketing collateral to mask 11 years of per-capita decline and policy failure.
CPP belongs to the workers who paid in — not Ottawa’s global sales pitch.
Protect it. This is our money.
#cdnpoli#CPP#CostOfLivingCrisis#TaxFarm
🇨🇦 Canadians spent decades building the #CPP so politicians couldn't get their hands on it.
Now we're watching a government that calls debt "savings" and secrecy "transparency" while our pension assets suddenly appear in discussions about national finances.
That should concern
"Before 1901, foul balls did not count as strikes, allowing batters to foul off unlimited pitches without penalty, which led to very long at-bats.
In response to this, foul balls began to count as strikes in the National League in 1901 and were adopted by the American League in 1903.
When foul balls didn't count as strikes, 'Sliding Billy' Hamilton once fouled off 29 pitches in a ROW.
The pitcher, Cy Young walked toward Hamilton and said:
"The next one is coming right down the middle.
If you foul it off, the next one's going in your ear!"
"I had a good arm and legs.
When I would go to spring training, I would never touch a ball for three weeks.
Just would do a lot of walking and running.
I never did any unnecessary throwing.
I figured the old arm had just so many throws in it, and there wasn't any use wasting them.
Like for instance, I never warmed up ten, fifteen minutes before a game like most pitchers do.
I'd loosen up, three, four minutes.
Five at the outside.
And I never went to the bullpen.
Oh I'd relieve all right, plenty of times, but I went right from the bench to the box, and I'd take a few warm-up pitches and be ready.
Then I had good control.
I aimed to make the batter hit the ball, and I threw as few pitches as possible.
That's why I was able to work every other day.
One of the fellows called me 'Cyclone' but finally shortened it to 'Cy' and its been that ever since."
Cy Young.
A career 511- 316 with a 2.36 ERA.
In the last couple of days, the Liberal Prime Minister chased reporters out of his office to protect the sensitivities of the Chinese foreign minister.
Those exiled reporters then found the Conservative leader and harangued him for criticizing the Liberal-created recession.
“Saviour Machine” David Bowie feels like Canada in 2026.
We keep being told to trust the machine.
Trust the experts.
Trust the bureaucracy.
Trust the central planners.
Trust the climate model.
Trust the affordability plan.
Trust the people who made everything more expensive to now fix everything they broke.
That is the trap Bowie saw.
The machine does not become wise because it has credentials. It becomes powerful because people stop questioning it.
Canada’s problem is not that we lack systems. We are drowning in systems. Agencies, mandates, targets, programs, panels, commissions, and elite management schemes stacked on top of each other like a bureaucratic Jenga tower.
And somehow life keeps getting worse.
Housing costs more. Food costs more. Energy costs more. Work pays less in real terms. Productivity is weak. The country feels heavier.
The Saviour Machine always promises rescue.
Then it asks for more control.
Then more money.
Then more obedience.
At some point, citizens have to stop worshipping the machine and start asking the old human question:
Does this actually work?
This is a blatant assault on fundamental rights.
How are Senators supposed to represent the people if Canadians’ voices are being silenced?
Over 200,000 postcards addressed to the Senate have been withheld from Senators and kept in a warehouse.
Canadians have the right to voice their opinions. Senators have the right to hear them.
This censorship needs to stop!
A business class breakfast on Air Canada costs $18.
A breakfast on Carney’s private jet costs $1400.
That is not leadership, it's Liberal luxury on the taxpayer’s dime.
This is unacceptable.
PM @MarkJCarney “sovereign wealth fund” will cost taxpayers $750 million/year in debt interest charges, according to @FinanceCanada figures. Estimate follows criticism that $25 billion ‘Canada Strong Fund’ was no savings when financed with borrowed money.

Compassion without accountability turns into a subsidy for bad behaviour.
Real compassion protects the innocent first. It can still ask why someone became destructive, but it does not hand them the keys, lower the guardrails, and call the wreckage kindness.
Mercy without boundaries is not virtue. It is negligence wearing a nice sweater.
I remember about 20 years ago a cabinet minister resigned over an $18 glass of orange juice. Now Carney spends almost $100k on luxury airplane food on 1 trip, and it's hardly news. We didn't tolerate this before, but somewhere over the last 20 years the Canadian public has lost it's balls.

BREAKING
The Parliamentary Budget Officer has revealed that nearly 74,000 REJECTED asylum claimants are entitled to deluxe health benefits through the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP).
Deluxe supplemental health benefits like vision care, home care, and physiotherapy now account for more than half of all IFHP costs.
These are benefits that Canadians who have paid into the system their entire lives can’t access.
Counselling costs have grown from less than 1% of supplementary spending in 2016 to 11% in 2025.
Last year alone, taxpayers paid $38.79 million for counselling and $12.41 million for home visits for asylum seekers under the program.
This damning information comes at a time when six million Canadians can’t access the basic service of a family doctor.
The PBO also revealed the average length of IFHP coverage for asylum claimants is now a staggering four years.
It is undeniable that as the backlog grows, rejected asylum claimants continue adding pressure to a health care system where Canadians are already facing long wait times for care.
The Liberals must explain to Canadians why asylum seekers whose refugee claims were rejected, face enforceable removal orders, and in some cases fail to appear for removal, continue to receive deluxe, taxpayer-funded health benefits while they avoid leaving Canada.
700,000 Albertans asked for a referendum.
A Trudeau-era federal appointee blocked the petition on consultation grounds.
Now Albertans get a non-binding vote on October 19 to decide if they want to vote again on the same issue.
Who decides Alberta’s future?
Albertans or the courts?
