Currently very busy moving to my new apartment, can't wait to peacefully sit down and make some progress on Snack Chads! I still have a long way to go in the entire challenge.

Finally figured out a proper flow of consuming vs being hurt and appropriately shrinking/growing! I also quickly added a death animation that is very very Mario-like!

I found an apartment and am very busy moving so my progress is slowing down. However, I was able to spare some time to implement the fireballs into Snack Chads!

Refactored some of the player's code to be more scalable as I lay the foundation for more power-ups like the fireball and star invulnerability. When the player consumes a mushroom, everything stops for a second.
Just like in Mario! 😊

Pipe system is functional! Took me two days to think it over and I got a solution I'm happy with (at least for now!). The player can go into a separate room, and the pipe returns the player to a certain other pipe in the main level.

Struggling with the pipe system!
Changing the main scene from level to room loses a lot of context. Keeping it in the level complicates code a lot. Not sure which is the way to go. Current problem is to have a clean reference of return.
Any advice? 🙏

It's a tricky system, but half of the work is done! The pipes now actually lead to somewhere, and the player comes out wherever that is. Tomorrow, I'll work on getting the destination more accurate.

The player can now grow by consuming an energy drink, the player's growth decides whether they can destroy some blocks or not. Just like in Mario!

@yabsssai The player doesn't have any animations yet, currently the growing happens with an AnimationPlayer adjusting the sprite, collisionshape, etc.
The blocks are using tweens to have the little bump.
